I've had many conversations with people about my musical taste. They say I just like noisy music. Well before I started only listening to pretentious art music I was punk as fuck. The hardcore scene in Michigan was really fertile and Flint got all the good shows. Especially Empire of One skate shop.

So many bands blew my teenage mind. The guy who ran the shop was super into Am Rep bands which led me to Jesus Lizard, Unsane, and Today is the Day. Which pushed me into weirder stuff. But I love this music.

So here's some of my favorites from that era. And if you ever see a food not bombs compilation from the 90's in a record store buy it.
